Plumb home stead

The Plumb family home stead was purchased by Asa PLumb. This has been the family home to at least 4 gen. of Plumbs that I know of. My mother told me that the house was well over 200 yrs old. I have no clue when it was built. I remember that my grandfather loved the house it was the only home he knew. It was a very modest home. Asa Plumb, Charles E Plumb, And Herman C Plumb, and a granddaughter live in the home until its tragic demise in a fire. I far as I remember it was a warm house with some occasional drafts.
It has a lot of memories to those who lived there.
My grandfather's barn faced this side of the house along with the milk house. I remember being in the barn with our horses and seeing the cow skulls laying around. The milk house was fed by one of the many natural springs on the property. It still had the old milk cans there. This picture is the side the kitchen was on. The window to the far right had a ladle hung above the sink that we all drank from when we were thirsty. I remember watching my grandmother at the sink. They did have indoor plumbing put in when my mother was a child. I think the out houses were still there. Later my Uncle cleaned the property and built a new house in its spot.
